Pecan Pie Milkshake

Thanksgiving.

My least favorite holiday, of all the holidays.

Maybe even more so than the dreaded Valentine's Day. Maybe...

The idea of everyone over consuming with drinking and eating is just dumb to me. And I love to eat and drink! But the idea that millions of people, all doing this, at the same time seems like such a total waste of everything. It sure would be something if we all started treating food, like the Buddhist monks do. Consume for sole nourishment and survival.

Not for pleasure.

Who am I kidding?! I can't do that. But, good for them!

But, it's the over indulging that really turns me off. Moderation people. Moderation!

This was the first time I spent any time with my family in 3 years for a Thanksgiving. Although, I didn't feel pressured to show up, I thought it best to. Truth be told, I would have been just as content at sitting at home, alone, eating frozen Cheese Enchiladas and watching Elf. But, I enjoyed myself regardless.

My father was in charge of bringing the pies and I voted for Pecan, since no one ever gets Pecan. Just as always, the dessert was served just too close to stuffing our faces at the dinner table. I can't keep eating. So, I had the pleasure of taking the majority of the pie home. Win!

And that is how this recipe was born.

I've been starring at the pie for several days in the fridge, debating what to transform it into. It surely was tasty, JUST IS. But, fuck that, that's not a whole lotta fun.

So, behold! The Pecan Pie Milkshake. I can't think Milkshake, without thinking about this...

You're Welcome.

Serves: One Milkshake Bringing Hussy

Ingredients:

One generous slice of leftover Pecan Pie

1 Cup Vanilla Ice cream

1 Cup Milk of Choice (I used Almond)

1/3 Cup Jarred Caramel

2 TBS Graham Cracker Cookie Crumbs

First coat your glass in caramel. I drizzled on the inside and the lip and then dipped it in graham cracker cookie crumbs. Because, I was not acting gluttonous. Nope, not in the least...

In a blender-add the pie (a normal slice), the ice cream and the milk. Blend and then pour into glass and enjoy it with your other tasty leftover treats!

My Milkshake brings all the boys to the yard....
